A WooCommerce results count can look misaligned while still reporting the right products, or look polished while describing the wrong page. Test the meaning of the text and its layout separately. WooCommerce 11.3 adds styling controls to the Product Results Count block, so an upgrade review should cover both.
This is a staging procedure for the 11.3 prerelease as of October 29, 2026. Use a known catalog fixture and record the active theme and exact WooCommerce build.
Create enough products to require a second page
Use a small set of synthetic products and a deliberately low per-page count. For example, seven eligible products with three displayed per page let you check a full first page, a full second page and a shorter final page.
Write down the expected population after catalog visibility and stock settings have been applied. The total is not necessarily the number of product records in the database. Hidden products, excluded categories or the collection's own constraints may intentionally reduce the population.
Record visible product IDs alongside the count text. On the first page, second page and final page, confirm that the displayed range agrees with what the shopper can actually see. Do not infer correctness from the total alone.
Apply filters and sorting deliberately
Select a filter that returns a known subset. Compare its product IDs, total and current range. Then clear it and confirm the original population returns. If filtering from a later page produces an empty view, examine whether pagination state was reset or otherwise handled by the implementation.
Change sorting while keeping the same filters. The order can change, but the eligible population should remain the same unless another business rule also changed. A different total after sorting deserves investigation before the count is restyled.
Use browser Back and reload the selected URL. Capture the count only after the request and UI update have settled. A momentary loading state should not be recorded as a permanent mismatch.
Results-count acceptance checks separate the meaning of the range from the layout of the text. Synthetic explanatory visual.
Diagnose alignment through the container
The implementation adds spacing, typography, alignment and background controls using core block supports. Its testing notes point out that text alignment is visible only when the containing layout allows the block to expand.
If right alignment appears ineffective, inspect the element's available width. Text inside a container only as wide as the text has nowhere to move. Compare block width, parent layout and computed alignment before adding an important declaration to a global stylesheet.
Check the result at desktop and narrow widths. Large padding can consume most of a small screen, while a long translated count can wrap beside a sorting control. Keep both controls readable and preserve their logical order rather than hiding the count to avoid a collision.
Keep old saved blocks in the comparison
Test one existing template and one freshly inserted Results Count block. Save both and reload the storefront. If only the old instance differs, compare its saved attributes and custom classes before assuming the release's default styling is broken.
When a theme rule wins over a block setting, document the selector and scope the repair to this component. Avoid changing paragraph styles across the entire site. A global fix can alter checkout instructions, product descriptions and unrelated editorial pages.
Separate API errors from presentation bugs
If the filtering request returns an error, collect the response before changing the count's markup. The Store API collection-data limit guide covers a distinct request-validation failure. A 400 response will not be fixed by a text-alignment control.
For a custom local collection whose products and option counts disagree, inspect its query modification separately. Keep the fixture small enough that expected membership can be checked by hand, and do not run a full catalog rebuild as the opening diagnostic.
Acceptance requires correct ranges on every page, consistent filtered totals, stable reload behavior and readable placement on a narrow screen. Retain the fixture IDs and two screenshots. HandL WP can investigate catalog rendering when theme layout and query behavior need to be separated before a production upgrade.
