Thank-you / success state after submit

What this check means

This guide helps you act on one scan finding. It is not legal advice or a compliance verdict.

What to fix

Expose a stable thank-you or success state the scanner (and your tags) can detect after submit.

Step-by-step fix

  1. In the form plugin, set confirmation to redirect to a dedicated /thank-you/ (or similar) URL, or to a persistent on-page success message with stable text/DOM.
  2. Publish that thank-you page with a clear H1 such as “Thanks” so detection is unambiguous.
  3. Avoid confirmation that only flashes for <1s and disappears.
  4. Purge caches on both the form URL and the thank-you URL.

Choose the path for your setup

  • Gravity Forms

Confirmations → Redirect or Text — keep one primary confirmation for the production form.

  • Contact Form 7

Use the additional settings / FLAMINGO notes plus a custom DOM success class, or redirect via a small mu-plugin if you need a hard URL.

Confirm it is fixed

Re-scan and confirm B4 detects the thank-you / success state after submit.
